Career Technical Education (CTE)

A term applied to schools and educational programs that specialize in the skilled trades, applied sciences, modern technologies, and career preparation. Last century’s vocational programs that prepared students with the skills for jobs right out of high school have evolved into CTE programs that provide different pathways, leading to high school graduation, higher education, and 21st-century jobs in skilled trades, applied sciences, and technology.
