Engagement

This relates to the level of connection and participation you have in your college experience. It is best to look for a college where you will have many opportunities for engagement, both social and academic. Examples include: having a mentor or professor who takes a special interest in you; the opportunity to work on a multi-semester project, write a research paper, participate in an internship; and involvement in any type of extracurricular activity (from sports, to choir to a religious group).
